The trails are a little sketchy in some parts but overall it's a really nice walk - just watch where you are going. The only kicker is that to get to the trails you have to pay an entrance fee. I was skeptical but we payed anyways since we were already there. The hike was interesting with stops along the way that explained what happened in the battle at those spots. At the end of our hike we went back into the visitor center and watched a video that is part of your admission. The video covered the battle in more detail. This was pretty cool considering we didn't even know that this historic battle happened literally in our backyard. Pickett Mill trails are a great work out while learning about Civil War History!

The museum is small but very informative and gives you the overview of what happened during the battle of Pickett Mills. There are 4 trails to choose from. The trails are well marked and very well maintained however, they are extremely steep in some areas so bring all your energy with you! We love hiking here and will definitely be back soon.

If you enjoy a nice gentle hike in the woods, you will like this trail. No strenuous mountains. No great waterfalls. But very pleasant.
